How it works

you send in a B&O stylus or cartridge. I restore/replace it and send it back to you. If you are not sure if your cartridge is suitable

ask here

is my cartridge suitable?

When completed the cartridge is like new providing you chose the same spec as original, there are a range of specs available so you can upgrade or downgrade any cartridge as you see fit. This price includes the return postage via UK signed post (£50 insurance) and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee so if you are not completely satisfied with the audio quality you can return it for a full refund, All repairs are done on a rolling basis and you may receive a different cartridge/stylus this helps to reduce turnaround times, if requested the cartridge/stylus Can be marked on arrival and you will receive the exact same unit back, This may increase the turnaround time, and will require permanent marking this will be done on the underside so it's not visible when in use

Turnaround time on average is 10 days. All orders are done in order of arrival.

Make sure to include a note clearly stating who you are and what service you want if this is not included there is large possibility I will not know it’s from you.

How to test your coils

Every stereo phono cartridge has 2 coils one for each channel the best way to test that these coils are functioning as intended is to use an ohm meter to test the resistance, each coils should measure about the same as the other if both are the same or similar resistance then the coils are fine, for B&O styli and cartridges this method can be applied for the MMC1-5 cartridge the resistance should be approximately 700-800 ohms for this series the 2 opposing pins are one coil and the other 2 opposing pins are the other coil, if both coils measure about the same resistance then its fine, for other cartridges the resistance varies but this method can be applied to any stereo phono cartridge Or if you are able to play a record and audio comes from both channels as long as your system is all working correctly and mono is not engaged then both coils are fine. For the MMC20xx and MMCx000 these are difficult to test as the contacts are hard to get to, the easiest method is to use one of the ¼ inch adapters to make the contacts easier to test if you do not have one of these then you can use thin probes to test inside for this series the 2 furthest to the right are one coil the 2 furthest to the left are the other coil, the resistance should be approximately 700-800 ohms for each coil.
